IDE Society

The purpose of this independent society is primarily to ensure the exchange of information and experience between its members and external partners. The fundamental activity of the IDE Society is to organise regular formal and informal meetings for their members. These meetings should contribute towards better awareness, towards a better exchange of experiences, towards establishing business contacts and towards winning new partners and associates for the individual business schemes. We are currently in the process of preparing options for students to participate in authentic company projects or case studies.

Education

The objective of the educational activities is to present students with the necessary theoretical and practical information regarding business activities. The educational activities are provided by external lecturers, most of the time these are the pedagogues at the University of Economics, and by the representatives from the business world. The educational events will consist of professional lectures with a panel discussion, meetings and discussions with prominent businessmen and activities which will focus on the improvement of the communicational abilities of a businessman. We are also relying on the organisation of workshops and weekend events where the acquired knowledge can be tested in practice.

Consultancy

Within IDE we can also offer consultancy services as we are always in need of good quality feedback and proposals for solutions which would reflect the actual needs of the subjects in the business incubator, the members of the IDE Society as well as the students of the Business practicum subject. The consultancy services range from areas including legislation, taxes, accounting and financing or patents is provided by our external partners.

Business incubator

The incubator allows for the support of students business activities and the implementation of their business ideas and intentions. Those subjects who will be accepted into the business incubator can take advantage of many favourable conditions. Applicants for incubator admission must present a business plan prepared according to the given structure and if all conditions are fulfilled, they may be presented with a contract to be signed. The aim of the business incubator is primarily the provision of suitable conditions for the development of projects, negotiations with business partners, support in accessing financing, media promotion of projects, coaching and mentoring.

Competition

The objective of the competition is to motivate students and the general public towards creative activities i.e. to prepare a business scheme and to subsequently help with the market launch of the best projects. The first business scheme competition called “Ideas worth millions” was held last year. The tender included 123 business projects which received material and financial prizes worth 1.8 million CZK. The registered projects were assessed by a nine member professional jury; the assessment criteria included feasibility, potential of future growth and originality.

IDEA

IDEA represents a platform for various subjects who have a business scheme but are unable to implement it on their own and for that reason, want to sell it to a third party.
